Engineering for Functional Material System

[Materials Design Chemistry] We foster human resources with specialized knowledge and the most advanced technology regarding functional materials through education and research on mechanisms of traveling and transformation of energy in the chemical agent, information and materials.
[Innovational Electronics] Our goal is to train professionals who understand the most advanced technology of quantum electronic engineering and boundary and/or neighboring technology for future technical innovation and have broad abilities that can be applied to the new era.
[Functional Materials Creation Technology] In order to enable human activities to harmonize with the natural environment, we train people who can develop technologies in material science, electronic engineering and interdisciplinary fields of them.

Information and Mechanical Systems Engineering

Four pillars of our program consist of software, information communication networks, production systems and human-machine systems.  Based on the elemental technology such as software systems, information communication systems and machine systems, our education and research are conducted to provide wide-ranging system solutions from production systems to various business systems.

Natural, Biotic and Social Environment Engineering

In this program, we train technical experts and researchers in developments of maintenance of the environmentally sound infrastructure, the most advanced technology related to natural function and prediction and evaluation methods in the social agenda. In “the International Special Doctoral Course for Integrated River Basin Management” (a part of the 21st COE program), education is provided in English for mainly Asian foreign students.

Advanced Education Program for International Fuel Cell Engineers

The purpose of this program is to train technological researchers in fuel cell engineering who can conduct the most advanced research in the future and be active internationally.

Division of Medicine and Engineering Science

Human Environment Medical Engineering (Life Information Systems Course)

We are conducting the most advanced education and research based on interdisciplinary approach combining areas such as life and materials engineering, medical and biological engineering, intellectual information science technology, molecular biology, medical science of cranial nerve function and advanced clinical medicine. We are seeking solutions for various problems such as environmental concerns, increase of new diseases and the coexisting society including the elderly and disabled people which the modern society is currently facing.
