Human Environment Medical Engineering(Life Information Systems Course)

We systematically analyze life phenomenon and various types of information.

Having three pillars consisting of biotechnology, intellectual information science, and the most advanced medical engineering, we train researchers and technical experts who can contribute to a broad range of life and information science fields by systematically analyzing life phenomenon and various types of information in Life Information Systems Course. This course consists of the following three fields.

In the field of biotechnology, aiming for improvement in health, understanding pathogenesis, tissue regeneration and restoration of life environment, we conduct exploration of functional biomaterial resources and, research and education of bioinformatics from engineering stand point of view. We are also conducting research aiming for practical use of technology such as development of medicine, health food and tissue regeneration delaying or restoring aging and dysfunction in cells as well as education emphasizing ethics and safety management as technical experts treating life.

In the field of intelligence information science technology, based on research of information processing systems, we prepare high level engineers and researchers who can manage high-presence multimedia communication systems and medical information communication systems. We prepare researchers and engineers who can conduct interdisciplinary approach in medical and information fields regarding intelligence information with basic knowledge obtained from Master level education at existing research departments, providing new points of view and methodologies.

In the field of advanced medical engineering, interdisciplinary approach of medicine, material engineering, precision engineering and electronic engineering is conducted.In this approach, for the elderly and physically-challenged, research of regenerative medicine engineering, innovative medical devices and nursing-care equipment as well as development of infrastructure of minimum invasive treatment and telemedicine systems to obtain the same level of QOL with healthy people are conducted. Through the promotion of this field of research, we contribute to realization of barrier-free environment in the society.
